My village is my pride — Dungra Leti — LOHAGHAT (Uttarakhand)
You may have often heard the saying that people find the place where they are born and brought up to be ordinary, but they like to explore and travel to new places. However, this has never happened with me. I was born in Uttarakhand and have always had a special connection with my village and mountains. I have never been able to forget these mountains and perhaps I never will.
Here are some pictures I took of my village.
On the banks of the river, around 15–20 kilometers away from Lohaghat, there is a place called Seraghat (also known as Nagarjuna Baba Temple). The road to this place was recently opened, and it is connected to the Sarayu river. I remember my first journey to this place on Raksha Bandhan last year. I quickly tied rakhi to my sisters in the village and embarked on my journey. I caught the 11 number bus, but I wasn’t sure how long it would take to reach my destination. So, I packed some chips and a cold drink, which I usually keep in my bag, for the journey.
After reaching there, I took a deep breath and had some cold drink and chips. This was my first visit during the monsoon season, and the river was flowing with its full glory. I sat on the banks of the river and watched the waves. Then, I wandered around the place, exploring the waterfalls and forests for 3–4 hours before heading back.
